About Us

Jenndigo Designs is a Fabric Design and Printing Studio founded by Jennie Herrmann. Her passion for textile art started in high school where she learned about fabric dying, batik, and printing on fabric. Early on in college she studied Fine Arts and Cultural Textiles which further cultivated her interest in fiber arts. By the early 1990’s, she realized that she needed to expand on this foundation and was accepted at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City where she studied Textile Surface Design. Her love of cultural textiles has sent her on travels to South America, Southern Europe and the near East to see firsthand how different cultures create and use textiles.

Jenndigo Designs Print Studio is located on Bainbridge Island. “I love the hands on process of printing and the energy in the studio as the creative process takes off.” Jennie describes her style as “eclectic”, saying that she has always had a way of putting things together. “When I’m drawn to things it’s because there is a connection between the elements which creates an energy that lures me in.”

Her Mission is to “embellish the ordinary”

Jennie gets inspiration from cultural textiles and different printing methods. “The process of printing is a little uneven and not uniform which adds a human interest to the designs. These variances blend well with fabric because fabric has motion and is not static”- Jennie explains.

“The effect is created by the artist’s hands”

Different mediums add depth and interest to Jennie’s Surface Designs….“I keep experimenting with different mediums and love to incorporate them into my designs on fabric.”
